Soon after he was appointed England manager in 1962, Alf Ramsey made a bold prediction England would win the next World Cup a tournament that would be played on home soil. The epic final against West Germany is one of English sports greatest moments and there are few who havent heard BBC commentator Kenneth Wolstenholmes famous words, They think its all over! In 2016 The Royal Mint celebrates a footballing legacy that is inspiring a new generation of English players to emulate the heroes of 1966. This is the only official coin struck to mark 50 years since Bobby Moore lifted the famous Jules Rimet trophy.
