Albrecht Dürer (May 21, 1471 April 6, 1528) is regarded as the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance and one of the best printmakers of all time. Famous for his religious works, numerous portraits and self-portraits and highly appreciated for his significant input to the development of engraving. In order to make the coin of this series more attractive, the Mint of Poland decided to employ the etching technique, which makes this coin distinguished from the rest of the collection. Painters of the World is a unique international series of silver collectors coins which was started in 2006. This series is dedicated to the most famous painters of the world.
