Sterling Silver Cufflinks made in our London Studio from two genuine vintage historic original three pence coins struck in sterling silver by the Royal Mint in 1914 AND 1918. We have made these to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the first world war. We use sterling silver coins actually minted in 1914 & 1918 and then we manufacture the backs in the same way they and other pieces of fine jewellery would have been made 100 years ago. Made in the traditional style with chain links and bar fitting, using traditional techniques that have changed little in the 100 years or so since the coins were minted. All our cufflinks are hallmarked at the Goldsmiths company assay office in the city of London in a tradition dating back to the fifteenth century when London craftsmen were first required to take their artefacts to Goldsmiths’ Hall for assaying and marking.
