This formidable 1 Oz Silver coin is part of the “Prehistoric World” series and is dedicated to the Stegosaurus, an armored herbivorous dinosaur from the Late Jurassic, characterized by the distinctive kite-shaped upright plates along its back and spikes on its tail. A fun fact about the Stegosaurus is that it supplemented its diet by intentionally swallowing small rocks, to better digest the vegetation in its stomach by moving around in there and helping to break up the foliage.
